Name: Claire Cahill
Business Name: Accendo Coaching & Training
Twitter Name: @CahillClaire
Who inspires you and why? My children because of their drive, determination, courage and lust for life
What was your first job? Papergirl delivering every evening and Sunday morning which was the biggest paper round consisting of 4 Sunday Times which to get it through one letterbox I had to take it apart and post it through in sections
What’s your top business tip? Never give up, you only fail when you stop trying. Perceived failure is an opportunity to learn and grow, so reflect daily on what has gone well and why? – then do more of it! What hasn’t gone so well and why? Consider what new approach you need to take the next day and never be afraid to ask for help & support – it’s a strength rather than a weakness.
What’s your favourite business book or podcast? My Fire’s Gone Out! – How to cope with change in your work and your life – Liam O’Connell – I’ve written a review on the book and shared it as a blog on my website
What’s your favourite quote? “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you will ever know” – Winnie the Pooh
and just for fun…
Who would at the top of your guest list for dinner and why? Robbie Williams because I’ve always told my boys “If your Daddy wasn’t your Daddy, Robbie Williams would be. Your Daddy just came knocking first!”
What’s your favourite film? I have so many and for different reasons…….. Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, Love Actually, The Greatest Showman, Dangerous Minds
Tell us about an embarrassing moment (one you can laugh about now). Red wine is my nemesis and I’ve had many embarrassing moments when I’ve drunk too much. However, I’ve fallen to sleep in the window of a pub whilst on a night out in Chesterfield, thankfully my husband came to my rescue and then I fell to sleep in a restaurant in Paris. The next day we were going up the Eiffel Tower. It was a kill or cure situation, thankfully going to the top was a hangover cure! I love red wine and despite the embarrassing moments, I’ve not learnt my lesson yet……
Look out for next Monday’s Motivation feature and another local woman in business.
